Fjords Fragrance began with a place rather than a product. The deep inlets of the Nordic coast – dark water, low light, and forests that run right down to the shore – have a scent of their own: cool, green, resinous and clean. Our oils are an honest attempt to bottle that feeling, without perfume tricks.
This is the natural world our collection draws from, and the pure essential oils that carry each note.
The forest: pine, spruce and cedar
Walk into a northern coniferous forest and the air is unmistakable – sharp, sweet and slightly balsamic. That is the resin of the trees warming in the air. We capture it with three oils. Pine essential oil is the brightest and most fresh-forest of the three. Spruce essential oil is softer and rounder, closer to the smell of cut boughs. Cedarwood essential oil sits underneath them both – dry, warm and woody, the scent of timber and quiet cabins.
The clearings: cool greens and herbs
Between the trees, the ground cover adds another layer. Peppermint brings a cold, green snap; eucalyptus adds a camphor-fresh edge; and clary sage contributes a soft, slightly nutty herbaceousness. Together they read like a cool morning after rain.
The light: citrus and flowers
Even in the north there is brightness. We balance the green and woody notes with clean citrus and soft florals: lemon and bergamot for a sunlit lift, and lavender, rose and neroli for a gentle floral heart.
Why pure oils, and nothing else
Every bottle in our range is 100% pure essential oil – no fillers, no synthetic fragrance, no dilution you did not ask for. That choice is the whole point of the brand: we would rather offer a small, honest collection than a long list of fragrance blends. You can read more about that on our about page, or get to know the full range in the collection.
Our oils are a small range for now, and growing. If a scent speaks to you, it is worth getting to know the single note first – that is how you learn to build your own fjord.
